If you need to drop a day off from training so that you can spend more time with family/ knee deep in german beer and footlong hotdogs, then so be it. Taking some more time to enjoy life can give you even better focus and leave you feeling refreshed when you do hit the gym!

Be choosy…

Pick and choose through your programming for things that you enjoy, skip bits if needed to fit your time restraints and if you can, drag a friend/ family member along to make it that bit more fun! The world wont stop turning if you adapt a session every now and then, or if you decide to just do the workout and miss the strength bits because you have dinner plans, it’s all good!

Remember your why…

Why did you decide to start training? To be fit and strong so you can run around with your kids? To look and feel good? To have some time for yourself? We all have different things that drive us and a simple reminder each week of why you’re training can be an awesome thing.

In conclusion…

In our opinion, friends and family trump training every time, but it doesn’t have to be one or the other! Find a solution that works for you and slot in your training when you can. Take the pressure off and have some fun, that’s what life is all about :)

Looking to join a team of hard working, but laidback and fun loving coaches and athletes?
